Our art can tell a story

We created these pictures of our families and what we like to do together. See if you can see who the family members are and what we like to do.

We have three more art pieces in progress. They will be uploaded when they have been completed.

A visit from a local artist

We were lucky enough to have Harry's mum talk to us about what it is like being an artist. She spoke about how she goes about creating her art and why she became an artist.

Before the day, we brainstormed questions and asked these to Katie.

She also showed us how to sketch. Here Harry is holding the object while Katie is starting to make light lines to get the shape and then the detail of the object drawn on the white board.

Thank you Katie for visiting us. We had a great time and learnt heaps.

Term 2

Welcome back to yet another exciting term. We have had two really busy days so far and had a big surprise on Monday morning when a new class member  was spotted by Nathan. Something was hiding in the sink. 'Our friend' caused quite a commotion as everyone arrived at school and had to have a closer look. Unfortunately we wont be able to keep him as our class pet as he has already moved on.

This term we will continue to visit the library on a Thursday and we will have ball skills every Friday.

Please also remember that we will have a litter free Wednesday from now on so pack those lunches using reusable and recyclable containers. This venture also connects to our  inquiry into how living things share the world and affect each others’ lives. Small changes to how we live can have a positive impact on our environment.
