Amazing Machines
We have been reading the big book:
'The Amazing Machines' by Jill Eggleton.
In reading, we are using inference to help us understand the hidden messages and our inquiry focus is to express our ideas creatively. We have combined these two focus areas into one by designing our own machines.

Artstravaganza
Week 1 'Artstravaganza' ran smoothly. In the Pohutukawa Team, the students were split into five groups as we were lucky enough to have our local artist, Katie Blundell working with a group. Each group consisted of a mix of students from all the rooms. Students worked with different mediums and created masterpieces that will be on display in week 3.
Here is a slideshow illustrating the art as completed by the students who came to room 16 to learn how to do printmaking.
