This year we were running out onto the roadside, up to the fire station and back to school where we had to circle the field before we finished in front of the spectators at the hall. Before the day, we had to practise every day. We ran around the courts because the field was far too wet for us to run on. We learnt that we had to use all the learner dispositions during our cross country practises.
Here is what we had to do:
Resilience
- not stopping when we are tired
- giving running a go even when we don't enjoy it much
- how am I going and how I can improve
- did I give it my all or could I have done better
- did I encourage the other runners
- did I show good sportsmanship
Resourceful
- running slower when I am tired but not stopping
- finding a rhythm when I run
- running with a buddy
- practising in my own time
Reciprocal
- running with a buddy
- encouraging all the runners
- practising with my class
- trying my best
- congratulating the winners and runners
Reflective
- how am I going
- did I try my best when I was practising/competing
- did I encourage the other runners
- did I compete fairly
- how can I improve on my running
Waiting for the seniors to finish their cross country prize giving.
Running down towards the fire station.
Still time for a smile on our way back to school.
Thank you to the police officer who helped us cross the road at this intersection.
Here comes Josh and James!
Still so wet. Yes, we had to go through here twice. First when we left the school grounds and also on the way back onto the field. Luckily we didn't have any more rain.
