Nate's clock
On Thursday, Nate came to share with us about the clock that he made with his dad. This is what they did:
First we cut a piece of wood into smaller pieces.
Secondly we took some thin pieces of wood for the sides.
Then we got some tin snips and we cut a coke tin for the sides of the clock.
After that we glued the tin sides onto the wood.
I screwed the clock front on.
Dad then did the parts that I couldn't do, like the electronic and electrical parts. I watched what he was doing and learnt from him.
We tested it and had to make a few changes because it didn't work.
I use this clock in my room.

Calendar Art
We have been working on our calendar art, looking at sketching apples and making them look realistic with shading. It was rather tricky to get the shape correctly as they started off as circles. After creating a template from the best sketch, the coloured apples were made. Adding shading was a new experience and smudging made the pictures come to life. Please come and have a look at our pictures in class. They look amazing.
Here are a few examples of our completed apples:

Softball
Today it was our last softball lesson. We have learnt to throw, catch, field and hit over the last four weeks. We found it funny to wear the large gloves and to catch the ball properly while wearing it. Today we played a game. We were split into two teams and everybody had a change to hit the ball, score runs and to field against the other team.
Here are some photos of our previous sessions:
