This term we are learning about where our food comes from. We worked in groups looking at three new vocabulary words. Each group had to write their own definition for the words before they looked up the dictionary meaning. Learning the meaning of these words came next. Last the students had to break up into new groups before teaching each other the meanings of these words.
Here we are working reciprocally, finding and learning the definitions of the different words before we teach the rest of the class.
Week 1 'Artstravaganza' ran smoothly. In the Pohutukawa Team, the students were split into five groups as we were lucky enough to have our local artist, Katie Blundell working with a group. Each group consisted of a mix of students from all the rooms. Students worked with different mediums and created masterpieces that will be on display in week 3.
